Visit from colleague Modeste Zeye

Early October 2025, our stipendium colleague Modeste Zeye from Burkina Faso visited Uppsala. During his stay, we had the chance to meet in person and exchange experiences from our respective projects.

The group also went for dinner at Messob, an Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant in Uppsala, where we enjoyed good food and conversation. 🍲✨ We were very happy to have Modeste with us in Uppsala and hope to see him again in the future.

Doctoral Degree Conferment Ceremony

PhD defense

On October 25th, 2024, Imke successfully defended her PhD thesis in front of colleagues, friends, and family. The opponent for the defense was Professor Kristiina Tambets from the University of Tartu, who led a lively and engaging discussion.

The event marked the culmination of years of research and hard work, and ended with a well-deserved celebration. Congratulations, Dr. Lankheet!

African conference 2018

We hosted the conference “AFRICA, THE CRADLE OF HUMAN DIVERSITY” at Uppsala university with over 30 invited speakers!
